March’s Birthstone is Aquamarine….
Aquamarine is March’s birthstone belonging to the beryl family. Its name comes from the Latin words aqua (water) and marina (sea), reflecting its serene blue to greenish blue hues. Aquamarine is typically transparent and faceted with colours ranging from pale sky blue, blue to deep oceanic tones and larger deeper coloured stones are considered more valuable.
Historically aquamarine was believed to protect sailors, calm waves and bring happiness in marriage. It is also associated with clarity, courage and inner peace making it popular in jewellery such as rings, necklaces and earrings.
